Summary:
Etodolac is pyranocarboxylic acid derivative and a compound
in the structure of etodolic acid. It is a new and reletively
potent nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug(NSAID) which
has analgesic, antiarthritic and antiinflammatory effects.It
is used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoartritis,
ankylosing spondylitis, tendinitis, bursitis and soft
tissue inflammations like tenosinovitis; acute sport injuries
and postsurgical pains. In this article, the physicochemical
properties, quantification methods, pharmacological, pharmacodynamic
and pharmacokinetic properties, bioavailability and drug
interactions of etodolac were outlined.
