Summary:
The taxane class diterpenoid taxol is important anticancer
drug first isolated from the bark of the Pacific Yew tree
(Taxus brevifolia Nutt.) in 1971. Its broad spectrum anticancer
activity in clinical trials has spurred a worldwide search.
During these researches, many taxane-type diterpenoids
have been isolated from different Taxus species. In this
paper, the methods of isolation and analysis of taxane-type
diterpenoids from Taxus species have been reviewed.
