Summary:
Furosemide is a potent diuretic used in the treatment of oedematous states associated with cardiac, renal and hepatic failure and for treatment of hypertension. Therapy is frequently complicated by apparently erratic systemic availability from the oral route and from unpredictable responses to a given dosage. In this article bioavailability of furosemide is reviewed.
