Summary:
The structure and barrier properties of the buccal mucosa,
which is an alternative route to gastrointestinal and
parenteral routes in administration of metabolically unstable
drugs, especially peptides and proteins, will be described
here as well as th drug penetration and enhacement through
this mucosa.
