THE BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY AND THE MODEL STUDIES ON THE BENZIMIDAZOLE-METAL COMPLEXES

Summary:
Since the discovery of the presence of imidazole nucleus and its related structures, especially benzimidazoles, in some biologically important molecules such as, “ionheme” systems, vitamin B12 and its derivatives and some metalloproteins, increasing attention has been paid to the benzimidazole-metal complexes. In this review, model studies and insecticide, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antiinflammatory and antitumor activity studies on the benzimidazole-metal complexes have been investigated.
